(Kiri is building a
bigger, better Energizer bunny so she describes
for a guest what the old one does. While it was
supposed to be a gift, there may have been a bit
of sibling rivalry involved knowing how much it
will annoy her sister once it got running
around.)
Kiri:
so
I'm a coercer,
engineer....I
have an
interest in as
I pointed out,
antique
automobiles. I
design toys.
Karen:
do you?
Kiri:
yes.
(Russ
starts
laughing)
Karen:
why are you
laughing?
Kiri:
because he has
a mind that's
in a sewer.
Karen:
oh those toys?
Kiri:
no I don't
design those
toys.
Russ:
no, she could
but she
doesn't.
Kiri:
yes, I could
design some
very good
ones.
Karen:
you could just
sell them so.
Kiri:
so I've heard.
Russ:
it's not in a
sewer.
Kiri:
no it's below
a sewer.
Karen:
no I didn't
say you were
going to sell
them in a
sewer.
Kiri:
below the
sewer his mind
is. No I build
robots and so
on, artificial
intelligence.
For example,
somebody has a
very fond
interest in a
certain
Energizer
bunny.
Karen: oh I've
heard.....yes, I've
heard mentioned the
Energizer bunny very,
very often.
Russ: it's just a
joke.
Kiri: uh-huh he's very
fond of the Energizer
bunny.
Karen: well I like the
Energizer bunny.
Kiri: so I made him
one. It's
voice-activated to two
voices only, mine and
his, the battery has a
life expectancy of 15
years, that's
continuous use.
Russ: or you can turn
it off.
Kiri: if you switch it
off, it will probably
last I should say
maybe 30 years. My big
sister can't switch it
off. You grab it, it
reacts in certain
ways. Now I've just
completed a bigger
version so you get
yours back.
Russ: yeah. (chuckles)
Kiri: you sound very
enthusiastic about
that.
Russ: well Karra
sounds very
enthusiastic about it.
(long-running joke
about an unstoppable
rabbit running around
between apartments)
Kiri: uh-huh.
Russ: there is an echo
in my head...Yeah!!
Kiri: so, you'll get
your rabbit back.
